"Kim, where are the antacids?" I heard that all too familiar sound. "Your not supposed to take them everyday," I replied. My husband who doesn't even take an aspirin for an occasional headache was popping antacids like they were coming from a pez dispenser. Knowing he would never go to the Doctor to treat his acid reflux disease, I set out to find an alternative remedy.
Every individual is different, but we learned that when my husband can taste the ginger a few minutes after swallowing the capsules, that was his correct dose. Once in a great while he may need an extra 500 mg. of ginger, but that is usually after he has eaten a large pasta dinner or too many potato chips. I don't know if taking ginger is right for everyone, but we were fortunate enough to have found an inexpensive, alternative method. It really worked for us and hopefully it will work for you to.

Top-level comments on this article: (2 total)Thank you for posting this informative article! I, like your husband, do not like to take over-the-counter medicines or medications for anything if there is an organic or natural alternative. I have been researching ginger for my motion sickness (when flying) and now will consider purchasing it because of this and many stories like yours. Thank you!Dear Jessica, You are so welcome! If just one person is helped with their acid reflux by taking ginger, it was well worth my while writing this article. Thank you and good luck. Kimberly
I will also recommend this as an alternative to surgery for my sister-in-law who suffers from horrible acid reflux! thanks again!
